
Open Call for Evaluators
The Malta Further and Higher Education Authority is pleased to announce an open call for evaluators to assess and contribute to the quality assurance of three educational programmes designed to provide learners with essential skills and knowledge in their respective fields. As an evaluator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that these programmes meet the highest standards of academic and professional excellence.
We invite prospective evaluators to submit their applications no later than 27th January 2025. Applications should be sent via email to [email protected]. Please ensure that all required documentation is included in your submission.
Title: Award in Introduction to Photography
MQF Level: 3

Requirements: MQF Level 4 in Photography
Description: The Award in Introduction to Photography Level 3 is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the art and science of photography. This programme covers essential topics such as camera operation, composition, lighting, and post-processing techniques. Students will engage in both theoretical learning and practical exercises, allowing them to develop their technical skills and creative vision.
Title: Award in Survival Skills at Sea

Requirements: MQF Level 4 in Survival Skills at Sea
Description: The Award in Survival Skills at Sea Level 3 program equips maritime professionals with advanced survival techniques essential for high-risk environments. The course covers both theoretical and practical aspects, including emergency preparedness, the use of survival equipment, and life raft management. Participants will gain the skills needed to effectively respond to and manage emergencies at sea, ensuring their safety and that of their colleagues.
Title: Undergraduate Diploma in Makeup Artistry
MQF Level: 5

Requirements: A qualification at MQF Level 5 (VTCT/MCAST/ITEC/CIBTAC qualification in Beauty Therapy or Makeup with an additional 5 to 10 years of working experience.
Description: This program is designed to educate learners about all aspects of makeup and its application in various sections of the industry. The programme begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of colour theory, anatomy, and physiology of the face and skin, contra-indications for makeup application, health and safety procedures, and client care. The first module, therefore, aims to provide a foundational understanding of makeup tools and concepts, which is crucial to plan and provide different types of makeup for different skin types. The programme then moves to emphasise the importance of the history of makeup to be able to create periodic makeup looks. This module also gives insight into the effects of lighting on makeup for stage, television studio, and fashion media. Students will then move on to learn about fantasy and theatre makeup, the application of artificial facial hair and wigs, and the characters that can be created. The fourth module focuses on makeup required for the film industry and the practical application of special effects makeup. The application of makeup for a professional fashion photoshoot will also be explored. The last module focuses on research in Makeup Artistry whereby the students have the opportunity to conduct research on a particular topic within the field and create a portfolio of makeup looks which relates to this research. This research project, therefore, will equip the students with sound analytical and problem-solving skills. Overall, this program offers a comprehensive education in becoming a professional makeup artist, from foundational concepts to practical implementation. It equips students or professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the makeup industry in all its requirements.
