Vacancy: Senior Manager – IT

Main Responsibilities
- Draw up quotations or specifications for the procurement of IT products or services.
- Determine Strategy and Orientation of IT and Telecom systems within the MFHEA.
- Determine Quality and Security Procedures of IT and Telecom Systems and monitor their application.
- Determine and Executive Risk Management of IT systems (security, reliability, integrity, confidentiality).
- Oversee subcontracting of IT projects.
- Design an IT strategy based on Management Keynotes and User Demands.
- Supervise implementation of the IT strategy.
- Monitor Domain or Project: Architecture (System, Network).
- Monitor Domain or Project – Maintenance.
- Monitor Domain or Project – Research, Innovation and Development.
- Propose Technical Solutions.
- Supervise and Coordinate Executive of Projects.
- Stay Informed about Technical Development of IT and Telecom Systems.
- Managing the MFHEA website and MFHEA social media.
- Managing the upkeep and maintenance of an online database.
- Liaising with MITA, MFED CIO and other technical personnel on all matters relating to use of IT and telecom systems by MFHEA staff.
- Maintaining equipment supplies including IT equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications – A Minimum of a Level 6 Qualification and 3 years Management experience in an IT related field.

Call for Expression of Interest for a researcher/expert with experience in Quality Assurance in Further and Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training
The Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) is launching an open Call for Expression of Interest for a researcher/expert with experience in Quality Assurance in Further and Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training to collect and analyse data to identify key issues, gaps and ideas for upskilling and new qualifications required in various sectors, including analysis of Quality Assurance in work-based learning and partnerships. This task is part of The National VET Team-Annual activity planning co-funded by Erasmus + Programme project.

Main Responsibilities
1.1 Authority Officers will support the Malta Authority for Further and Higher Education in the following areas as designated by the CEO from time to time:
a) Funding Framework
b) Quality Assurance Framework
c) Student Affairs
d) International Affairs
e) Statistical Framework and Org. Knowledge Management
1.2 Authority Officers will be responsible for the development of their assigned areas of responsibility as delegated by the Authority and the CEO from time to time.
1.3 All Authority Officers will form part of the Authority and will generally:
a) Develop intellectual leadership in the designated area of responsibility assigned by the CEO
b) Develop the relevant capabilities within the Authority to address the designated area
c) Inform and advise the Authority on the designated area
d) Draft reports on the area and will review policies from the perspective of the designated area
e) Support the CEO to deliver its objectives (as specified in Clauses 65 and 66 of the Education Act Cap 327)
f) Collaborate with all stakeholders on issues in the related area of responsibility
g) Source, compile and analyse the information required to support the above functions

Requirements
A Minimum of a Recognised Level 6 Qualification and 3 years Management experience in a related Field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in this field.
