Job Description
Job Title: Quality Assurance and Accreditation Manager
Grade: Manager
Remuneration and Benefits:
The annual salary attached to this appointment for the year 2024 shall be €30,628 with annual increments of € 596 and increases of €1,180 up to a maximum of €34,204 inclusive of the cost of living. Statutory mid-year and end-of-year bonuses are paid over and above this amount.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Primary Responsibilities
1.1 Supports Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) on all processes related to Quality Assurance (though not exclusively), as well as other areas as may be designated by the CEO from time to time. Also expected to perform any other functions that may be assigned by the CEO and Management.
1.2 Moreover, this position is intended to assist the Head of the Unit responsible for managing a National System for Quality Assurance of Further and Higher Education Programmes pegged on the Malta Qualifications Framework.
1.3 Together with the Head, the Manager will work on reviewing and strengthening programme and provider quality assurance procedure.
1.4 Together with the Head, the Manager will review and strengthen administrative procedures, such as unified registry and filing system, to cover the whole process.
1.5 Collaborates with all stakeholders on issues in the related area of responsibility and facilitates internal synergy with the work of the MQRIC within MFHEA.
1.6 Liaises with the relevant officers to set up modernised IT systems that facilitate information on recognition.
1.7 Monitors Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit Officers’ work.
1.8 Compiles and draws reports for the CEO, the MFHEA board, the Unit Head or as may be required from time to time.
1.9 Assists in planning, implementing, managing and monitoring all the activities at the Quality Assurance unit.
1.10 Assists in managing day to day operations and facilitates coherence at the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.
1.11 Supports the performance of staff members at the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit by providing feedback and pointing out areas for improvement.
1.12 Attends various meetings/conferences on Quality Assurance and Accreditation both locally and abroad.
1.13 Assists in internal training for Quality Assurance and Accreditation staff, including weekly-priorities meetings.
1.14 Attends periodic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Units’ meetings to discuss, adopt and build processes.
1.15 Sources, compiles and analyses the information required to support the above functions.
2. Ancillary
1. Participates in and contributes to initiatives related to the Authority.
2 Attends and participates in events both locally and abroad as may be directed by the Authority.
3. Undertakes any other assignments that may be related or conducive to the attainment of any of the above.
4. Supports the Authority and its objectives efficiently and effectively.
5. Ensures that all assigned tasks are retained in high confidence.
6. Assists in other functions as may be required.
Internal Relations
1.Maintains a professional relationship with all MFHEA employees.
2.Works in close consultation with and provides advice to the Senior Management and any other MFHEA employees.
3.Provides the necessary assistance and contributes to the Authority’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.
External Relations
Represents and works in the best interest of the organisation.
Tasks and duties of the job holder are not limited to the above listed and employee may be required to assist other departments.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
- A full MQF level 6 qualification from a recognised university.
- Previous managerial experience will be considered an asset.
