MFHEA Gender Equality Plan Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The Gender Equality Plan is being presented by the MFHEA with the purpose of serving as a clear roadmap for the Authority to attain gender equality in the workplace, ensuring that all employees feel secure and appreciated. The MFHEA has already implemented various gender-sensitive measures in accordance with Maltese legislation and the provisions outlined in the Authority’s Collective Agreement for the period 2021-2024.
To effectively implement the Gender Equality Plan, a working group has been established, consisting of representatives from each unit within the Authority. The primary objective is not only to enhance gender equality but also to eradicate gender inequality. The identified objectives to achieve this goal include:
- Increasing awareness and understanding of unconscious gender bias, encouraging mindfulness of its impact on actions and decisions.
- Cultivating a culture of inclusion and fostering an appreciation for diversity in the workplace.
- Collaborating with international counterparts to exchange ideas and strategies for achieving gender equality.
- Emphasizing that the responsibility for creating a gender-equal environment lies with every staff member within the Authority.
This comprehensive document is crafted with consideration for all current and potential staff members. An initial gender equality audit was conducted by assessing the Authority’s current gender balance using administrative data and distributing a questionnaire to all MFHEA staff, with the findings analysed for further insights.Gender Equality Plan
