Communications for Providers

Communication about New Fee Structures for Provider Accreditation and for Programme Accreditation

MFHEA published a communication to notify FHE providers that a new fee structure for provider and programme accreditation shall apply with effect from 1st January 2022.

Fee Structure for Provider Accreditation

Provider Accreditation  The full costs incurred in the execution of financial due diligence as required under SL 607.03 will be payable by the applicant for the licence.
University Application Fee €10,000 plus full costs of the review process till completion.
Further and Higher Education Institution €1,300
Higher Education Institution €1000
Further Education Institution €500
Further Education Centre €250
Tuition Centre €250 
Validation Assessment Body €300

a) The minimum fee for programme accreditation is €80.
b) Any fees that would have been paid are non-refundable.
c) Applicants are to pay the total fee in advance and the accreditation process (licenses and programmes) starts only upon confirmation of payment of the amount due.
d) In the case of an application for a University license, 50% of the total fee shall be paid upon submission of the application. The rest of the fee, together with the costs related to the review process, shall be paid upon completion of the whole process irrespective of the outcome of the application.
e) Should additional fees incur as a result of a change in the number of ECTS or the MQF level, MFHEA reserves the right to invoice the outstanding balance.
f) In the case of accreditation of programmes involving online or blended learning, the total amount will include an additional 10% of the total cost to reflect the additional administrative processes associated with these types of programmes.
g) If at any point in the application process, no feedback, requested documents, amendments or clarifications are provided by the providers for a period of three months, then the application will be considered null and void, and the applicant will need to re-submit a new application.
