Gender Equality Plan

Gender Equality Plan

The European Commission have published a guidance document to support organisations to meet the Gender Equality Plan (GEP) eligibility criterion of Horizon Europe. The GEPs are an eligibility criterion for public bodies, research organisations and higher education establishments (both public and private) to be eligible for funding. This rule will enter into force for calls with a deadline from 2022 and beyond.

This Guidance presents components of the eligibility criterion as set by the European Commission, explains what these requirements mean in practice when developing and implementing a GEP or reviewing the equivalence of existing plans or policies. It also provides concrete examples, building on existing materials and practices and various resources that support gender equality in research and innovation at national and institutional levels.

The guide can be downloaded from here.

The Malta Council for Science and Technology have uploaded a 1 hour webinar on their YouTube channel on Gender Issues and Gender Equality Plan!

Additionally, you can ask support from your NCP Tamara Schembri <[email protected]>.

You can also register to a webinar on “Gender Equality in Horizon Europe” taking place on the 18th of November. During this webinar; speaker Jeanne Lenders from European Commission (EC) will present the main novelties of gender equality aspects in Horizon Europe and will give an overview of the guidelines on how to adopt gender dimension in the research projects.

To participate in the event, please register by 17 November 2021 using the following link.
