9th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEMME9)

9th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEMME9)

25th – 26th January, Valletta, Malta.

ASEM Ministers, their delegations and representatives of ASEM Stakeholders attended the 9th ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASEMME9) which was held on 25-26 January 2024 in Malta.

The Ministerial meeting  focused on the theme: “Leaving no one behind”

The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima, Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Malta, who expressed his gratitude for the presence of all the esteemed attendees.

On the 25th, the keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Enzo Maria Le Fevre Cervini, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory on Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (IALAB) of the University of Buenos Aires, focusing on the topic of “Inclusive Horizons: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Education’s Collective Future”.

Furthermore, the 1st Roundtable of Ministers on Sustainable Development Goals and Education convened, providing a platform for Ministers to present their respective countries’ visions and strategies related to Sustainable Development Goals and Education. Subsequently, the 2nd Roundtable of Ministers on Recognition and Balanced Mobility took place, during which Ministers delivered their countries’ perspectives and strategies concerning Recognition and Balanced Mobility.

On the 26th, The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Andreas Charalambous, University of Nicosia, Cyprus, focusing on the topic of “Embracing Technology and Innovative Learning Methods in Healthcare Education: A Pathway to Inclusive Growth and Development”. 

Furthermore, the 3rd Roundtable of Ministers on Lifelong Learning and TVET convened, providing a platform for Ministers to present their respective countries’ visions and strategies related to Lifelong Learning and TVET. Subsequently, the 4th Roundtable of Ministers on Digitalisation took place, during which Ministers delivered their countries’ perspectives and strategies concerning Digitalisation.
